Your substack is the loveliest ‘lost cause’ there ever was. Thank *you*, Amal. We are so lucky to have you.

My teary eyes are making it hard to write something that might describe how seen this made me feel. There were so many points that I wanted to highlight. This is about me, I'm the person you wrote about because I feel everything deeply that's mentioned here. I know it's about you but thank you for making me feel seen. "Thank you for lingering" was my last final straw and I'm...thank you!

Hi Isha, thank you for reading 💖 I'm so glad you resonated with this piece (and with me). I always felt I was alone in this feeling but it looks like we're not! Keep writing/creating... sending you love <33

It kinda looks like you are taking off. 40 likes is a big deal. These are not photos of what you are eating, these are your thoughts and emotions laid bare. It makes sense though. I can feel that you are sharing your true feelings rather than just trying to appeal to people.

“Authenticity” is a buzz word now, but it’s true, it’s the age of authenticity, and this is the real thing, not the packaged one in quotations.

biggest congratulations amal, im a new subscriber and spent just the past few minutes reading your works and it’s such wonderful writing, both on the intimate and the universal topics you discuss.

100 is not small at all, and i’m sure at one point you’re going to get a whoooole lot more — and it’s easy to get used to it, so it’s beautiful that as soon as now you recognize how wonderful it is to have even a single person reading your works (!!! they truly are great).

and on a side note, i cackled when i saw your line on “ah yes another thing my substack feed is tired of” 😭 i’m writing something on this as well on how we just can’t seem to do anything right these days (even beyond substack), and your line really just nailed it 🤪

Hello hello and thank you for this lovely comment.

It is such a beautiful thing to have people interested in your work. I feel lucky & blessed to receive words just like yours.

LOL, as a people pleaser (I'm working on it!) I am certainly hyper aware of what the masses are thinking about. It's interesting how quickly the internet's likes and dislikes keep changing, so one has to just do what feels right, and try to disregard the chatter.

Looking forward to reading the piece you mentioned! All the best! <3

There needs to be a term for when two substackers who don't know each other have the takes on the same topic!

That was beautiful Amal, (here's my take) https://open.substack.com/pub/fishinapool/p/are-you-scared-of-being-seen?r=7uzp1&utm_medium=ios

I agree! I absolutely love when I'm writing something and I come across someone else's post that explores similar themes. I'm thinking of beginning to add them at the end of my posts.

Thanks so much for reading, and leaving this lovely comment. Looking forward to reading your take, hopefully today if work lets up.

Congratulations again Amal. Use the writers block as a time for a little break for your mind. Don't forget to be kind to yourself in the meanwhile. Wishing you a thousand more subs and whatever it is that will make you happy. 🫰🏻

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be seen, understood and connect with other people, it’s part of being human💕 and one of the best ways I can be seen is through my art cause it’s the most me I can be
