I think of choices as doors rather than a fruit to pluck and consume, and the thing about doors is that they open onto roads which themselves can take you many places. Yes, you can choose what's behind door number one or door number two - you do have to choose, and each one opens onto separate prizes, but there's still the road beyond that. I think your writing will take you places you can scarcely imagine. You have so much talent.
"there's still the road beyond that" is a sentence that brought so much peace to my heart. I really like the way you view choices, going to let your ideas simmer through my mind for the next few days. Thank you for your continuous support and ideas, which I always love and appreciate so much <3
babe wake up new amal post just dropped!!! beautiful as always—may your hands always be sticky with figs of prose, and may your fig tree continue to feed us with your incredible fruit.
This writing is beautiful, truly. It’s the kind of piece that stays with you, that lingers like a gentle melody. Thank you for sharing something so lovely.
Reading this post felt like somebody's seized my heart in their fist and they're grasping it hard. I have never firmly related to a post about being a literature student, knowing your path from a young age, and people assuming that an English literature degree is useless. Your take on the fig tree analogy is amazing!!! Thank you for eliciting such emotions from me, this is beautiful and visceral!
Zeena, I'm so glad you can relate. It feels like every Literature girl experiences the same things.... it brings us together. Thank you thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts with me.
