i’m crying, this is so beautiful amal. so intricate, so intimate, may we all be given the rizq of love. may our wide vintage eyes grieve because we had someone to love. someone worth loving that much. I absolutely love this so much 💌
And another one! Haha, well penned. Truly well penned. My paternal gramma lived some 30 years I think after my grampa passed. I never met him.
The timing of death is so strange. On one side, there's a vast span of decades. On on the other side, just 43 days.
Two months ago on Jan 2nd, my maternal gramma passed away suddenly without notice. And then 43 days later on Feb 14, my grandad passed away too. He also had dimentia kicking in. I can only imagine what he must have felt in those 43 days. And he was a lifelong smoker too. What you said about your jeddo sounded like it could have been about mine.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandparents. I truly believe that the generation of our grandparents saw love in such a different way than we do now, and they truly develop soul ties. Perhaps it's because they got married young. Who knows.
Thank you for reading, and for sharing this. I deeply appreciate it. Sending you love <3
I love the fact that the poem is so deeply rooted in culture. Such a singular experience yet so universal. The idea of god making us in pairs is so interesting; I've never heard about that. Is it a common belief in your community?
